Endurance Training and Injury Prevention Clinic

Now Available to members on DVD

Our endurance training and injury prevention / treatment clinic + social was held on Friday 17th March in Balerno Church Hall (opposite the Scotmid car park) from 7.30 - 10.00. This gave members & friends a chance to ask about training regimes, quality versus quantity, tapering, injuries that suddenly appear or never quite go away.. etc etc

Speakers:

Alex McEwan:    Long-time distance runner and endurance coach with City of Edinburgh Athletic Club, organisor / coach of the women's group that meets at the Meadows, Athletics Development officer for West Lothian. 

John Whitehead: Has now completed 84 marathons plus several races at even longer distances

Dr Kerry Kirk:    ActiveTriathlete, former T&F / cross-country competitor, Sports Injury specialist from the Sport & Exercise Science & Medicine Centre at Heriot-Watt prepared material on the most commong forms of injury, and how to avoid them. Unfortunaltely due to illeness kerry couldn't make it, but we had able stand-ins with Anne Forsyth and Jenny Forsyth.

...  followed by wine & nibbles etc.... more than we could consume

Tickets were only £3 for members of Harmeny AC / Harmeny Pentland Runners and the Harmeny JogScotland group, and £5 for non-members
