Sunday 27th Feb, Iain Morrice, Richard Gray, Tom White and Caroline Dunn. This was the
first time for many years that the 10 mile race had been organised alongside the 5
mile road race and it looks like with 76 runners it may well be an annual event.
There was excellent weather on the day, no snow in
The 5 mile race started at one part of the route and the 10 mile started at another point
on the course. It was strange running against/with people that were doing the 5 mile race
because the majority doing the 10 mile were club runners and the people doing the 5 mile
race were joggers!!, as you can imagine we were passing the 5 mile runners at a fair turn
of speed.
The route was excellent, 2 x 5 mile laps around the Blackford/Braid Hill area which must

Everyone seemed to enjoy it although Caroline had a wee injury problem (nothing new there)

Misfortune quite literally got in the way when the runner in front of Andreas suddenly

"Another great race, especially by our HARMENY runners: Weather was brilliant,
sunshine with a wee nip in the air. This 10 mile route is one of hardest 10 miles runs in

Our runners were, Andy Neilson, Iain Morrice, Richard Gray, Tom White and Sally May.
Everybody did well with some excellent times considering the steep course (or as Sally
puts it I now know what people meant when they told me Lasswade was hilly).

Whilst some of us were preparing to visit Murrayfield for what turned out to be another
inept Scottish mens performance (the women won), a few sensible folk found a better
way of spending Sunday and took in the delights of sunny Grangemouth. Alexs time was
6 minutes faster than last year, Pauline was 4 mins faster and Beverley was 2 mins faster.
Catherine broke 50 mins for the first time, and knows she can go a bit quicker.
