Balerno comes into view as you run on tree-lined country road (Goodtrees)

On leaving the entrance driveway to the Rugby club turn left at the road

 

Stay on the l.h.s going up through the village

 



If raining beware mud on road from field-water run-off 

Steepest part of the ascent!

 

 

Turn right at the Red Moss (Site of Special Scientific Interest)
Turn right at the end of the Rigg (half-way point). One more gentle ascent before plunging downhill

Very slight ascent along the
top road (East Rigg)
